Welcome to 2015-16
It has been great to see so many returning students to Eagleton along with lots of new students. We are excited for this year. Going into my third year as the principal of Eagleton, I am looking forward to helping our students learn and grow. There will be many opportunities for parents to get involved this year. We hope you take advantage of these opportunities and get involved with Eagleton. Together, we can make sure our students are set up for future success. Check out the year at a glance calendar to see our planned family events.

Back to school- CELEBRATION
Because of the giant construction project this summer, we were unable to have back to school night before school started. Instead we have planned a fantastic grand opening event for the last week in September. We will have special guest speakers, time to tour the school, visit classrooms and enjoy a picnic dinner. We will communicate the specific date soon!
Attendance is KEY
We want to make sure our students are at school everyday. Our day begins at 8:00 and we have supervision outside available as early as 7:40. School attendance is key to school success. We will hold regular prize drawings for students with perfect attendance. Please make sure your children are here every day. Our goal is 95% attendance and we know we can do it with your help. Please call the attendance line at (720) 424-7931 if your child must be absent.
*This month we will be giving out grocery gift certificates to 2 families whose students have perfect attendance for the month of September.
Classroom Behavior System
We are utilizing No Nonsense Nurturing as a classroom management technique school wide this year. Each classroom has a colored system to track student behavior. Every day each student begins on green.

If your child gets to the blue level, they will get a special recognition blue Successful Eagle. Ask your child about what color they were on at school each day. Part of the NNN system is giving out class points to earn class wide rewards, along with individual consequences when needed. We provide students with clear expectations and a positive environment to learn. Let us know if you have questions.
Safety and Security
We do all that we can to ensure our students safety. We need your help. Beginning next week, please say good-bye to your child at the door in the morning (except for ECE and kindergarten). We need to reduce the amount of adults in the building in the morning and we are asking for your assistance.
When any visitors, including parents come to Eagleton, all are required to wear a DPS visitor badge after signing-in in the office. Eagleton is a secure building and we want to remind our students and visitors to never open the door for anyone. We have security measures in place to monitor who enters the building.
Early Release- Wednesdays
We have early release days every Wednesday. We are looking forward to having plenty of time to collaborate and attend professional development to increase our effectiveness. Students will be released at 1:00 each week. However, if you are unable to pick up your child at 1:00 or your child has an activity beginning at 3:30, we have supervision available. Parent permission and student behavior contract required to stay at school on Wednesdays. ECE classes will have an adjusted schedule for Wednesdays. Morning class from 8:00-10:00 and afternoon classes from 11:00-1:00.
Collaborate with Eagleton
We need your collaboration to make Eagleton truly the best place to learn in Denver. We will provide monthly family events and parent meetings. We hope you can join us for our parent meetings as well as fun family events throughout the year. We want to hear your ideas on how to make this the best school for your children.
We are looking for parent and community members to join us on the Eagleton Collaborative School Committee (CSC). This dynamic decision making committee makes determinations about budget and staffing. The group meets regularly in September, periodically as needed and during the spring budget cycle. Let us know in the office if you are interested.

Announcements
We are looking for crossing guards in the morning and afternoon to help our students come and go from Eagleton safely. Please talk to Teddi Garcia in the office if you are interested.
We are still accepting students into our kindergarten program. Let your neighbors know and help us spread the word about Eagleton!

Me alegra ver tantos estudiantes regresando a Eagleton y también muchos estudiantes nuevos. Estamos muy emocionados para este año. Entrando a mi tercer año como directora de Eagleton, tengo muchas ganas de ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a aprender y crecer. Van a ver muchas oportunidades para los padres de venir a ayudar este ano. Esperemos que aprovechan de estos oportunidades de involucrarse con Eagleton. regreso a escuela- celebracion
Debido al proyecto de construcción de este verano, no hemos podido tener la noche de regreso a la escuela antes de que comenzara la escuela. En su lugar hemos planeado un fantástico evento de inauguración la última semana de septiembre. Tendremos invitados especiales, el tiempo para recorrer la escuela, visitar los salones de clase y disfrutar de un picnic. Nos comunicaremos la fecha pronto!
Asistencia es importante
Queremos asegurar que todos nuestros estudiantes asistan a la escuela todos los días. Nuestro día empieza a las 8:00 y tenemos supervisión afuera empezando a las 7:40. La asistencia a la escuela es muy importante para el éxito escolar. Vamos a tener rifas de premios para los estudiantes con asistencia perfecta. Sistema para el comportamiento del salon
Este ano estamos utilizando una técnica nueva para manejar el comportamiento en el salón que se llama "No Nonsense Nurturing." Cada salón tiene su sistema de colores para monitorear el comportamiento de cada estudiante. Todos los dias los estudiantes empiezan en el color verde.

Si su hijo llega al nivel azul, se les va dar un Aguila Exitosa de color azul que es muy especial. Las águilas se llevan a casa los viernes. Pregunte a su hijo en que color estaban cada dia. Parte del sistema es dando puntos en la clase para obtener premios para toda la clase, junto con consecuencias individuales cuando sea necesario. Proporcionamos a los estudiantes con expectativas claras y un ambiente positivo para aprender. Déjanos saber si tienen alguna pregunta.

Hacemos todo lo posible para asegurarnos de la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes. Necesitamos su ayuda. Este año vamos a tener días abreviados cada miércoles. Estamos contentos de tener más tiempo para colaborar y participar en el desarrollo profesional para aumentar nuestra eficacia. Los estudiantes saldrán a la 1:00 cada semana. Si usted no puede recoger su hijo a la 1:00 o si participan en una actividad después de escuela, tenemos supervisión disponible. Las clases de ECE van a tener un horario ajustado cada miércoles. La clase de la mañana es de 8:00-10:00 y la clase de la tarde es a las 10:30-12:30.
Colobora con eagleton
Necesitamos su colaboración para hacer Eagleton el mejor lugar para aprender en Denver. Vamos a ofrecer eventos familiares mensuales y reuniones para padres. Esperamos que puedan acompañarnos en nuestras reuniones de padres, así como eventos familiares durante todo el año. Queremos escuchar sus ideas sobre como hacer esta la mejor escuela para sus hijos.
Estamos buscando a padres y miembros de la comunidad a unirse a nosotros en el Comité Escolar de Colaboración Eagleton (CSC). Cada semana vamos a mandar información de la escuela a la casa en "las carpetas de jueves". Por favor asegurese de revisar las mochilas de sus hijos cada jueves por información importante.
El primer jueves de cada mes el boletín de El Nido de Águila se va mandar a casa junto con fechas importantes del mes.
