Dojo Celebrations

Our students have been working so hard throughout the school during the beginning of the year.  It is hard to believe it is already October.  Students love being able to see their individual data on class Dojo- it has been really motivating.

We use class Dojo school-wide and it has been a great tool to engage students and parents in learning.  We want to make sure parents are all connected on class Dojo.  If you have not yet connected through Dojo, please reach out to your child's teacher for directions and a class code.  It is a great way to know what is going on at school in the moment.

We held our first monthly reward party this past Monday.  We celebrated students who had 90% or higher positive marks on class dojo.  We had a snow cone party and talked about how important it is to do our best in school.  Each month we rest points and everyone has a chance to participate in the October event- the Halloween Parade.

We look forward to celebrating good behavior with more and more students each month at our monthly reward events.  For October, the Halloween parade will only be for students with 90% or higher positive marks on Dojo.

Fall Conferences- coming soon

We will be having Fall parent/teacher conferences on November 8^th and 9^th.  We will offer several time options for conferences.  Our goal is 100% of parents attend conferences.  This is an important time to learn about how your child is doing in school as well as talk about any issues you want to bring up.  Check Thursday folders for more details soon to come.

APP updates

We have an update to our Eagleton app. Please go to the app store and search for "Eagleton Elementary" to update your app. This update will improve messaging. 
Also make sure that you are updating your notification channels by tapping notifications in the menu and then clicking on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the app.
  Stay connected with the school and get reminders about school events.

Attendance is KEY

We have gotten off to a great start with student attendance this year with 94%.  Our goal for the year is 95%.  Please keep up the good work and get your students to school every day on time.  It makes a huge difference when students are here every day.  Just 2 absences a month in elementary school reduces the likely hood that your child would graduate.  So, please continue to make school a priority at home. It matters!

Celebraciones de "Dojo"

Nuestros estudiantes han estado trabajando muy duro a lo largo de la escuela durante el comienzo del año. Es difícil creer que ya es octubre. A los estudiantes les encanta poder ver sus datos individuales en clase Dojo- ha sido muy motivador.

 

Usamos Dojo de clase en toda la escuela y ha sido una gran herramienta para involucrar a los estudiantes y padres en el aprendizaje. Queremos asegurarnos de que todos los padres estén conectados en clase Dojo. Si aún no se ha conectado a través de Dojo, comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo para obtener instrucciones y un código de clase. Es una gran manera de saber lo que está pasando en la escuela en el momento.

 

Celebramos nuestra primera fiesta de recompensa mensual el pasado lunes. Celebramos a los estudiantes que tenían un 90% o más de notas positivas en el dojo de la clase. Tuvimos una fiesta de cono de nieve y hablamos de lo importante que es hacer lo mejor en la escuela. Cada mes descansamos puntos y todos tienen la oportunidad de participar en el evento de octubre, el Desfile de Halloween.

 

Esperamos celebrar el buen comportamiento con más y más estudiantes cada mes en nuestros eventos mensuales de recompensa. Para octubre, el desfile de Halloween sólo será para estudiantes con 90% o más de puntos positivos en Dojo.

Conferencias del otoño- vienen pronto

Tendremos conferencias de padres / maestros de otoño el 8 y 9 de noviembre. Ofrecemos varias opciones de tiempo para conferencias. Nuestra meta es que el 100% de los padres asistan a conferencias. Este es un momento importante para aprender acerca de cómo su hijo está haciendo en la escuela, así como hablar sobre cualquier tema que desee plantear. Actualization de la aplication

Asistencia es la clave

Hemos empezado bien con la asistencia estudiantil este año con un 94%. Nuestra meta para el año es 95%. Por favor mantenga el buen trabajo y lleve a sus estudiantes a la escuela todos los días a tiempo. Esto hace una gran diferencia cuando los estudiantes están aquí todos los días. Sólo 2 ausencias por mes en la escuela primaria reduce la probabilidad de que su hijo se gradúe. Por lo tanto, por favor continúe haciendo de la escuela una prioridad en casa. ¡Vale!

Welcome to 2017-18

Welcome to all the new families joining us this year and welcome back to our returning students.  We have gotten off to a great start!  It is wonderful to see so many smiling faces at Eagleton.  We are a great community and happy to have so many new families join us. 

Our school day begins at 8:30 and we serve a healthy breakfast to everyone at no charge from 7:45-8:30 every morning.   We know that without a good breakfast, our brains are not ready to learn.  Please make sure your child arrives with time to eat every day.   We do offer a sack breakfast for students who arrive late. 

Every classroom has daily morning meetings where we build a strong community and teach students how to take care of themselves and others.  We have weekly grade level community meetings each Monday.  At those meetings we discuss important Eagleton expectations and help students get to know one another.  Building a strong community of learners, educators and families is important at Eagleton.   We believe in the Power of 3:  Take care of yourself, others and the environment.   We are here for ALL of our students and families.  Please let us know if we can help with anything at all. We are a stronger community when we can support each other.

Uniforms

Remember that all students in ECE- 5^th grade wear Eagleton uniform shirts every day.  We sell uniforms in the office, as low as $6 per shirt.  We expect ALL students to have a uniform shirt on every day.  No other sweat-shirts are allowed. Please speak with someone in the office if you need assistance with purchasing uniform shirts.

Class Dojo

If you haven't already connected with your child's classroom teacher to get hooked up with class Dojo, let us know.  Class Dojo is an online behavior tracking system that we use in every classroom.  It is a system for recognizing students for good behavior and giving consequences for bad behavior right in the moment.  It allows us to communicate directly with parents for positive and negative issues. Each month we will have a reward for all students who have 90% or higher positive points.  Ask your children how their dojo is going. 

RAW project- MURALS!

We are so excited to be the first school in Denver to be participating in the RAW project.  This amazing project connects world renowned mural artists to paint murals at our school.  During the month of September, you will see professional artists working all over the school painting murals.  Check it out: http://projectwynwood.com/raw/.

Bienvenidos al 2017-2018

Bienvenidos a todas las familias nuevas y bienvenidos de nuevo a nuestros estudiantes que regresan. ¡Hemos empezado bien! Es maravilloso ver tantas caras sonrientes en Eagleton. Somos una gran comunidad y estamos felices de tener tantas familias nuevas unidas a nosotros.

 

Nuestro día escolar comienza a las 8:30 y servimos un desayuno saludable a cada uno de nuestros estudiantes sin costo alguno de 7:45-8:30 cada mañana. Sabemos que sin un buen desayuno, nuestro cerebro no está listo para aprender. Por favor, asegúrese de que su hijo llegue con tiempo para comer todos los días. Ofrecemos un desayuno para los estudiantes que llegan tarde.

 

Cada salón tiene reuniones diarias de la mañana donde construimos una comunidad fuerte y enseñamos a los estudiantes a cuidarse a sí mismos y a otros. Tenemos reuniones semanales de la comunidad a nivel de grado cada lunes. En esas reuniones discutimos expectativas importantes de Eagleton y ayudamos a los estudiantes a conocernos. Uniformes

Recuerde que todos los estudiantes en los grado 5 a ECE usen camisas de uniforme Eagleton todos los días. Vendemos uniformes en la oficina, tan bajo como $ 6 por camisa. DOJO del salón

Si aún no se ha conectado con el maestro del salón de su hijo para conectarse con la aplicación clase Dojo, háganoslo saber. Clase Dojo es un sistema de seguimiento de comportamiento en línea que usamos en todos los salones. Es un sistema para reconocer a los estudiantes por buen comportamiento y dar consecuencias por mal comportamiento justo en el momento. Nos permite comunicarnos directamente con los padres sobre cuestiones positivas y negativas. Cada mes tendremos una recompensa para todos los estudiantes que tengan un 90% o más puntos positivos. Pregunte a sus hijos cómo va su dojo.

El proyecto de RAW- Murales

Estamos tan emocionados de ser la primera escuela en Denver en participar en el proyecto RAW. Este increíble proyecto conecta artistas de renombre mundial para pintar murales en nuestra escuela. Wrapping up the school year

As this year wraps up, we have lots going on here at Eagleton. Make sure to look below at important dates to keep up with everything going on this Spring. We have lots of fun things planned for our students. 

Field day is coming up at the end of May, on the 26^th!  Field day is a fun day that students will earn by showing SOAR behaviors throughout the school.  We will not allow students to participate if they receive an office referral during the month of May.  Please remember we do not allow any school age visitors on this day.  We welcome parents to come share this fun day with your child, but will not allow any school age students as visitors.  It is a normal school day for DPS and it is not appropriate for students to be pulled out of class to attend the Eagleton field day.  Come talk to us in the office if you have any questions. 

Also, remember to turn in your Summer School applications.  If your child did not receive an invitation and you would like for them to attend, come to the office and we can give you an application, where they will be placed on a waitlist. We hope you take advantage of this free program, which includes breakfast and lunch.

Eagleton App for your phone!

Our Eagleton app is the best way to communicate with parents!  This awesome app has all kinds of info that you need to know: lunch menus, Eagle's Nests, the school schedule and more.  We send out notifications about special events and happenings.   Please make sure you have downloaded the app to be eligible for the prizes and stay in touch with Eagleton- http://tiny.cc/eagleton.

Lost and Found Items

Please come check out our lost and found!  We have lots and lots of jackets and sweaters.  We have the items on display and in the cabinet next to the gym.     We will donate any items left at the end of the year.

Uniform Update and Exchange 

Eagleton will continue using uniform shirts for next year.  We are also going to start collecting lightly used uniforms that your child may have already grown out of.  Please donate these used uniform t-shirts to the office.  Our hope is to begin a uniform exchange program. 

Bell schedule changes -2017-18

Next year our daily schedule will be 8:30-3:30 every day.  Students will have breakfast in the cafeteria starting at 8:00am.  Students should not show up to school any earlier than 8:00 as we will not have supervision.

Wednesday Changes for 2017-18

This year during our Wonderful Wednesdays students have been engaged in fun activities from different community groups. We will have community partners come in to work with our students once a month instead and provide teachers with planning time once a month.

Parent Satisfaction Survey

Thank you for taking a moment to fill out the parent satisfaction survey this April.  We value your feedback and will use it to make this school even better.  We had many students return the raffle form and we will be randomly selecting a winner soon.

CONCLUYENDO EL AÑO ESCOLAR

Al concluir el año, tenemos mucho que hacer aquí, en Eagleton. Asegúrese de buscar a continuación, en fechas importantes, la información para mantenerse al día con todo lo que sucede en esta primavera. Tenemos muchas cosas divertidas planeadas para nuestros estudiantes.

 

¡El día de juegos se acerca al final de Mayo, el día 26! El Día de juegos es un día de diversión que los estudiantes obtendrán al mostrar comportamientos SOAR en toda la escuela. No vamos a permitir que los estudiantes participen si reciben una referencia a la oficina durante el mes de Mayo. Por favor, recuerde que nosotros no permitimos otros  visitantes  en edad escolar en este día. Damos la bienvenida a los padres que vienen a compartir de este divertido día con su hijo, pero no vamos a permitir ningún estudiante en edad escolar como visitante. Es un día escolar normal para DPS y no es apropiado que los estudiantes que no se le permitió participar asistan al día de campo en Eagleton. Pase por la oficina si tiene alguna pregunta.

 

Además, recuerde que debe entregar las aplicaciones de la Escuela de Verano. Si su hijo no recibió una invitación y le gustaría que asistieran, venga a la oficina y podemos darle una solicitud, donde será colocado en una lista de espera. ¡Por favor, ven y visita nuestra sección de perdido y encontrado! Tenemos muchísimas chaquetas y suéteres. Tenemos los artículos en gachos y en el armario al lado del gimnasio. Vamos a donar cualquier artículo que no sea reclamado al final del año.

Camisas para uniformes & Intercambio uniforme

Eagleton seguirá usando camisetas de uniforme para el próximo año. También vamos a empezar a recoger los uniformes ligeramente usados que su hijo puede haber crecido de. Cambios en horario de Bell para 2017-18

El próximo año nuestro horario diario será de 8: 30-3: 30 todos los días. Los estudiantes tomarán el desayuno en la cafetería a partir de las 8:00 am. Los estudiantes no deben presentarse a la escuela antes de las 8:00 ya que no tendremos supervisión.

Tendremos socios de la comunidad que vienen a trabajar con nuestros estudiantes una vez al mes y proveen a los maestros tiempo de planificación una vez al mes.

 

ENCUESTA DE SATISFACSIÓN DE LOS PADRES

Gracias por tomar un momento para llenar la encuesta de satisfacción de los padres este mes de abril. Valoramos sus comentarios y lo usaremos para hacer que esta escuela sea aún mejor. Hemos tenido muchos estudiantes devolver la forma de rifa y estaremos seleccionando al azar un ganador pronto.

Developing our Student Mission   

We recently brought a group of students together to take the Eagleton mission statement and turn it into kid language. We wanted to create a mantra for our students to engage them in their learning.  We are so proud of what our students came up with!  Here it is:

Together as Eagleton students, we make our school community SOAR.  We focus on our learning by using our character strengths and SOAR behavior.  We are optimistic and persevere through challenges.  We show integrity and learn joyfully.  We are respectful and show gratitude in all that we do. Today we will learn new things and challenge ourselves to have a great education for a bright future.

Talk with your kids and ask them what they think about the mission and how they can make it come to life everyday at school.

Technology Grant Award

We are so excited to announce that we have been awarded a $10,000 grant for technology.  We had a special unveiling of our 70 brand new Lenovo laptops.  We are honored to receive this selective grant from Soft Choice and Lenovo.  We are one of only five schools across the USA to receive this grant.  We can't wait to get our students using the computers.  Education has gone through many changes through the last few decades and we know technology is a huge part of the future. 

Food Pantry- coming soon!

We are excited to announce a further partnership with food banks that will allow us to set up an ongoing food pantry.  Soon we will offer groceries like milk, eggs and produce for families who need a little help.  Be on the look out for more detailed information coming soon. 

Student Safety

The safety of our students is a high priority at Eagleton.  We work closely with DPS Safety and Security, as well as the Denver Police when potentially dangerous situations arise.  One drill we practice is lockouts.  Lockouts occur when there is some sort of police activity nearby in the neighborhood. During a lockout, no one is allowed to enter or leave the building and all outside doors are secured.   Another drill we prepare for is lockdowns. Lockdowns occur when there is a potential threat in the building.  During a lockdown students and staff hide in classrooms.  All classroom doors are locked.  We use the simple words- locks, lights, out of sight to ensure that everyone hears the directions and takes action immediately.  In either of those cases, DPS security comes to Eagleton to assist.  Please talk to your child about the importance practicing these drills.  If we have a real lockdown, we will send a note home to families to inform of what occurred.

Please make sure your children read at home every night!  We have lofty goals and need your help to reach them.  Kinder through 2^nd grade students should be reading for at least 20 minutes every night.  3^rd- 5^th grade students should be reading for at least 30 minutes.  Set up a routine and make reading fun!  Set a daily family reading time and ask your children about what they are reading.   We want our students to be fluent readers, comprehend what they read and develop a love of reading.

Desarrollando la misión de estudiantes

Recientemente trajimos a un grupo de estudiantes juntos para tomar la declaración de misión de Eagleton y convertirla en lenguaje para niños. Queríamos crear un mantra para que nuestros estudiantes los involucraran en su aprendizaje. Estamos muy orgullosos de lo que nuestros estudiantes se les ocurrió! Aquí está:

 

Juntos como estudiantes de Eagleton, hacemos que nuestra comunidad escolar SOAR. Nos enfocamos en nuestro aprendizaje usando nuestras fortalezas de carácter y comportamiento de SOAR. Somos optimistas y perseveramos a través de desafíos. Mostramos integridad y aprendemos con alegría. Somos respetuosos y demostrar gratitud en todo lo que hacemos. Hoy aprenderemos cosas nuevas y nos desafiaremos a tener una gran educación para un futuro brillante. Concesión de la subvencion technologia

Estamos muy emocionados de anunciar que hemos recibido una subvención de 10.000 dólares para la tecnología. Tuvimos una presentación especial de nuestros 70 nuevos portátiles Lenovo. Nos sentimos honrados de recibir esta subvención selectiva de Soft Choice y Lenovo. Somos una de solamente cinco escuelas a través de los EEUU para recibir esta concesión. No podemos esperar a que nuestros estudiantes usen las computadoras. La educación ha pasado por muchos cambios a través de las últimas décadas y sabemos que la tecnología es una gran parte del futuro.

Recursos por familias

Estamos muy contentos de anunciar una nueva asociación con los bancos de alimentos que nos permitirá establecer una despensa de alimentos en curso. Pronto ofreceremos comestibles como leche, huevos y productos para las familias que necesitan un poco de ayuda. Esté en la mirada hacia fuera para la información más detallada que viene pronto.

Seguridad de los estudiantes

La seguridad de nuestros estudiantes es una alta prioridad en Eagleton. Trabajamos de cerca con DPS Seguridad y Seguridad, así como con la Policía de Denver cuando surgen situaciones potencialmente peligrosas. Un ejercicio que practicamos es el cierre patronal. Los lockouts ocurren cuando hay algún tipo de actividad policial cerca en el vecindario. Durante un bloqueo, nadie se le permite entrar o salir del edificio y todas las puertas exteriores están aseguradas. Otro ejercicio que nos preparamos para los lockdowns. Los bloqueos se producen cuando existe una amenaza potencial en el edificio. Durante un lockdown los estudiantes y el personal se esconden en las aulas. Todas las puertas del aula están bloqueadas. Utilizamos las palabras simples: cerraduras, luces, fuera de la vista para asegurar que todo el mundo oiga las instrucciones y tome medidas inmediatamente. En cualquiera de esos casos, la seguridad de DPS llega a Eagleton para ayudar. Por favor hable con su hijo sobre la importancia de practicar estos ejercicios. Si tenemos un bloqueo real, enviaremos una nota a las familias para informar de lo ocurrido.

La importancia de lectura en casa

Asegúrese de que sus hijos lean en casa cada noche! Tenemos objetivos elevados y necesitamos su ayuda para alcanzarlos. Kinder a través de los estudiantes de segundo grado debe estar leyendo por lo menos 20 minutos cada noche. Los estudiantes de 3er a 5to grado deben estar leyendo por lo menos 30 minutos. ¡Establezca una rutina y haga que la lectura sea divertida! Eagleton School Spirit- Uniforms

We have lots of school spirit at Eagleton and one way that we show it is through our school uniforms.  Please remember that our dress code requires students to wear uniform shirts everyday.  Our dress code requires uniforms to be visible during the school day.  That means no hoodie sweatshirts can cover the uniforms, unless they are Eagleton sweatshirts.  We have scholarships available if you need assistance with purchasing uniforms. We sell t-shirts, long sleeves and sweatshirts. Our kids look great in their colorful uniform shirts!  We appreciate your support in making sure all of our students wear uniforms everyday.

School Satisfaction Survey Time

It is the time of year when schools across the district gather feedback from parents.  Every family has an opportunity to give us anonymous feedback (only one survey per family).  We value the information we receive and use it to make improvements to our school.  Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey and send it back using the included envelope. We will offer an incentive for students whose parents fill out the survey and return it.  Please take our school satisfaction survey and make sure it gets in the mail by April 28^th. CMAS Testing

During CMAS testing, it is very important that your children are on time to school, well rested and ready to do their best. 4^th grade students begin the assessments this week and test through 4/14.  3^rd grade begins testing 4/10 through 4/21.   Please help your child feel prepared and ready for testing.  Say things like:  "I believe in you" and  "When you get stuck, remember what you know and persevere" and "You are one smart cookie".  With your support our students will be amazing!

Summer School Opportunities

We are planning a summer school program that is fun and engaging.  Many invitations have gone out to individual students.  If your child received an invitation to summer school, please complete it and turn it in by the end of the week (4/7).  The program runs from June 12^th through July 7^th from 8:00-12:30, with an optional afternoon session.  Transportation may be available if you return the application by this Friday, April 7^th.  This program is a fantastic way for your child to advance their skills and continue learning through the summer. If your child did not receive an invitation and you would like for them to attend, come to the office and we can give you an application, where they will be placed on a waitlist. We hope you take advantage of this free program, which includes breakfast and lunch.

Istation Reading Assessment

Our new reading assessment is called Istation.  It is a computer-based assessment that students all over Denver take monthly.  We have seen great progress with our students so far this year and we are very proud of them!  We have just a couple more assessments left in the year and we are so close to meeting our school-wide goal.  Please talk to your children about istation and encourage them to take it seriously and do their best.  Your support is appreciated! 

Eagleton Talent Show

Our students are talented in many ways and we want to create an opportunity for them to show it off!  We will host a talent show for students on Thursday, May 18^th.  Students will need to audition and attend 3 practices in order to participate.  Auditions will be April 19^th at 3:40.  Practices will be the following 4 Wednesdays after school.  We encourage creative individual and group acts.

Espíritu Escolar Eagleton - Uniformes

Tenemos demasiado espirito escolar en Eagleton  y una de las formas que mostramos es através de nuestros uniformes escolares. Por favor recuerde que nuestro código de vestimenta requiere que los estudiantes usen camisas de uniforme todos los días. Nuestro código de vestimenta requiere que los uniformes sean visibles durante el día escolar. Eso significa que ninguna sudadera con capucha puede cubrir  los uniformes, a menos que sean cubiertas por la sudadera de Eagleton. Tenemos becas disponibles si necesitan ayuda con la compra de uniformes. Vendemos camisetas de manga corta y manga larga y sudaderas. ¡Nuestros niños se ven muy bien en sus uniformes coloridos! Agradecemos su apoyo para asegúranos de que todos nuestros estudiantes usen uniformes todos los días.

Tiempo De Encuesta De Satisfacción Escolar

Es la época del año en que las escuelas de todo el distrito recogen la retroalimentación de los padres. Cada familia tiene la oportunidad de darnos información anónima (solo una encuesta por familia). Valoramos la información que recibimos y la usamos para mejorar nuestra escuela. Tómense unos minutos para llenar la encuesta y enviarla con el sobre incluido. Ofrecemos un incentivo para los estudiantes cuyos padres llenen la encuesta y la devuelvan. Por favor, tome nuestra encuesta de satisfacción escolar y asegúrese de regresarla a la escuela a más tardar el 28 de abril. Háganos saber si tiene alguna pregunta.  ¡Gracias!

Exámenes CMAS

Durante los exámenes de CMAS, es muy importante que sus hijos lleguen a tiempo a la escuela, estén bien descansados y listos para hacer lo mejor posible. Los estudiantes de 4to grado comienzan las evaluaciones esta semana y prueben a través de 4/14. El tercer grado comienza a probar el 4/10 a 4/21. Por favor ayude a su niño a sentirse preparado y listo para las pruebas. Diga cosas como: "Yo creo en ti" y "Cuando te quedes atascado, recuerda lo que sabes y perseveras" y "Eres muy inteligente". Con su apoyo nuestros estudiantes serán increíbles!

Oportunidades Para La Escuela De Verano

Estamos planeando un programa de  escuela de verano que

es divertido y atractivo. Muchas invitaciones han sido

enviadas a estudiantes individuales. Si su hijo recibió una invitación a la escuela de verano, por favor, llénela y entréguela al final de la semana (4/7). El programa se extiende del 12 de junio al 7 de julio de 8:00 a 12:30, con una sesión opcional por la tarde. El transporte puede estar disponible si devuelve la solicitud antes del viernes 7 de abril. Este programa es una manera fantástica para que su hijo avance sus habilidades y continúe aprendiendo durante el verano. Si su hijo no recibió una invitación y le gustaría que asistieran, venga a la oficina y le podemos dar una solicitud, donde será colocado en una lista de espera. Esperamos que aprovechen este programa gratuito, que incluye desayuno y almuerzo.

Evaluación De Lectura De Istation

Nuestra nueva evaluación de lectura se llama Istation. Es una evaluación computarizada que los estudiantes de Denver toman mensualmente. Hemos visto un gran progreso con nuestros estudiantes hasta ahora este ano y estamos muy orgulloso de ellos! Tenemos solo un par de evaluaciones restantes en el ano y estamos tan cerca de cumplir con nuestro objetivó de toda la escuela. Por favor hable con sus hijos sobre Istation y aliéntelos a tomarlo en serio y que hagan lo mejor posible. Su apoyo es apreciado.

Show De Talento En Eagleton

 Nuestros estudiantes son talentosos de muchas maneras y queremos crear una oportunidad para que lo muestren! Organizaremos un show de talentos para los estudiantes el jueves 18 de mayo. Los estudiantes necesitarán audicionar y asistir a 3 prácticas para participar. Las audiciones serán el 19 de abril a las 3:40. Las prácticas serán los siguientes 4 miércoles después de la escuela. Animamos los actos individuales y grupales creativos.
