Warm Wishes from Eagleton!
2017 has been a great year of learning at Eagleton. Looking back, we are so proud of our Eagleton students and all they have accomplished! From learning new math strategies and improving reading skills, everyone is really embracing the power of 3. When we all take care of ourselves, each other and the environment we are a better community!
I am thankful for such a great community of students, staff and parents at Eagleton. I hope this Winter break is full of fun and family time. We have winter break from Friday, 12/22 through Friday, 1/5. We'll see everyone back at school on Monday, January 8th.

December Attendance Contest
During the month of December, we are offering a class wide reward for the class with the highest attendance rate. In the past we have seen our lowest attendance in the month of December- help us change that pattern! The class with the best attendance rate this month will earn a pizza party. Any class with 95% or higher attendance will earn a popcorn party. Stay healthy and get plenty of rest!
ACCESS Testing begins in January
We will begin with ACCESS testing in January, right when students return from Winter break. Our English Language learners will take ACCESS- a required Colorado state assessment that measures English language development. Let us know if you have any questions.
Student Data Privacy
We take online security seriously and we want to make sure parents are aware of the online resources we use at school. As 21st Century learners, we want to make sure our students have access to and learn from high quality online learning resources. We are asking that parents sign the form to allow students to use online learning tools. This is a requirement from DPS and ensures that we are protecting your student's privacy when using online tools. If you have questions or concerns, let us know. We are offering incentives for the class with 100% returned forms. *SIGN SEPARATE FORM
We are moving up!
In the Denver Public Schools, performance of schools is measured by the School Performance Framework (SPF). The SPF measures a variety of criteria of all schools- achievement status, growth and student and parent engagement. Each school gets an overall rating and we are pleased to share that we are rated as YELLOW. We increased from the orange level in the previous year. We are just a few points from green and we are happy to have seen increases in all areas. Parent SPF reports went home last week with more detailed information. Other community SPF resources available at spf.dpsk12.org- available in multiple languages.

Los mejores deseos de Eagleton
2017 ha sido un gran año de aprendizaje en Eagleton. Mirando hacia atrás, ¡estamos muy orgullosos de nuestros estudiantes de Eagleton y de todo lo que han logrado! Desde el aprendizaje de nuevas estrategias de matemáticas y la mejora de las habilidades de lectura, todos están practicando el poder de 3. Cuando todos nos cuidamos a nosotros mismos, a los demás y al medio ambiente somos una mejor comunidad. Estoy agradecida por una gran comunidad de estudiantes, personal y padres en Eagleton. Espero que este descanso de invierno esté lleno de diversión y tiempo familiar. Tenemos vacaciones de invierno desde el viernes, 12/22 hasta el viernes, 1/5. Regresamos a la escuela el lunes, 8 de enero.

Concurso de Asistencia de diciembre
Durante el mes de diciembre, ofrecemos una recompensa amplia para la clase con el porcentaje de asistencia más alta. En el pasado, hemos visto nuestra asistencia más baja en el mes de diciembre. ¡Ayúdenos a cambiar ese patrón! La clase con el mejor porcentaje de asistencia este mes ganará una fiesta de pizza. Cualquier clase con 95% o más de asistencia se ganará una fiesta de palomitas de maíz. ¡Manténgase saludable y descanse lo suficiente!
La prueba de ACCESS comienza en enero
Comenzaremos con las pruebas ACCESS en enero, justo cuando los estudiantes regresen de las vacaciones de invierno. Nuestros estudiantes de inglés tomarán ACCESS, una evaluación requerida del estado de Colorado que mide el desarrollo del idioma inglés. Háganos saber si tiene alguna pregunta.

En las Escuelas Públicas de Denver, el rendimiento de las escuelas se mide por el Marco de Desempeño Escolar (SPF). El SPF mide una variedad de criterios de todas las escuelas: estado de logro, crecimiento y compromiso de los alumnos y padres. Cada escuela obtiene una calificación general y nos complace anunciar que estamos clasificados como AMARILLOS. Hemos aumentado desde el nivel naranja en el año anterior. Estamos a solo unos pocos puntos del color Verde y estamos felices de haber visto incrementos en todas las áreas.
