SCHOOL HOME PARTNERSHIP

As we all know it takes a village to raise a child. We are proud to be part of the village raising your children! When we work together there is nothing our kids can't do. We work every day to help our kids believe in themselves. That is the first step to success- believing that we can succeed. Consider what you say to your children at home and how you can help build their self-esteem. Help kids understand that we learn when we make mistakes. Praise their effort, not just the final product. What we say to kids shapes how they think of themselves.

We are looking forward to our Spring conferences next week. We sent home district report cards before Spring break and will have more information to share with you about your child's progress this year. Be on the lookout for information from your child's teacher about specific times. Our goal is 100% participation. We hope you can make the time to attend these important conferences.

Together, as partners in education, we can make sure our students succeed!

In collaboration,

Ms. Lee Rains Thomas, Principal

TALENT SHOW AND SCIENCE FAIR

We are excited to offer a Spring talent show and science fair! Students who would like to participate in the talent show need to audition after school next Tuesday, 4/10. Students may sing, dance, act, or anything else creative. Students can perform individually or in a small group. After auditions next week, students will be notified about participation and practice requirements. The Talent Show will be on Thursday, 5/22 after school. Encourage your child to try out with a creative act!

Science fair will occur on the same night as the talent show, 5/22. Students who want to create a science project will need to sign up in the office and come to an after school work session later in April. Students who sign up will receive a notification about the science fair.

2018-19 CALENDAR

Our teachers work really hard and we are finding that they don't have enough time to plan during the school day. We love our teachers and want them to have the time they need to plan great lessons. For that reason, we are working on an innovative idea to provide more planning time for teachers next year. We are looking at an additional non-student contact day every month. We would like to offer a child care opportunity for these days for families that would need it (limited capacity). Please fill out the separate form letting us know what you think about this idea. We haven't made a final decision and need your feedback to determine the best plan for the calendar next year.

PARENT SATISFACTION SURVEY

In Thursday folders next week, you will receive a school satisfaction survey. This is a district wide survey that is used to evaluate how schools are doing. We value your feedback and use it to improve our school. We encourage you to complete the survey and use the pre-paid envelope to send it in the mail. There will only be one survey per family and it will go home with the oldest child in the family at Eagleton. Let us know if you would like help filling it out or have any questions about the survey. We are striving for at least an 80% response rate.
